Rúairí is a suckler beef farmer in the Slieve Aughty Mountains Special Protection Area for breeding Hen Harrier. He was a development farmer for the Hen Harrier Programme in 2017. He worked closely with the Hen Harrier Project team during that time, as the Programme was being developed. He became a participant in the Programme in 2018 and took our advice on habitat improvement on board that summer. He also participated in our feed bucket trial and provided great feedback on that. He has been in regular contact with the Project and Monitoring team over the last numbers looking out for the Hen Harrier in his area as well as the socioeconomic viability of his farm in this important High Nature Value farmland area.
