‘Making a Living on 3 Acres and Producing Nutrient Dense Food’ – next Ask the Farmer Online Q&A

Near Bunclody, on the Carlow/Wexford border, Jenny Watkins and Janet Power own and run Gorse Farm, a market garden. Looking up at Mt Leinster, the holding comprises 1 hectare and yet they need only 1/3 of that area to provide a good living for them both.

Passionate about organic growing and producing nutritionally dense food for their community, they are also experimenting with a version of forest gardening called syntropic agroforestry. With a wealth of knowledge about no-dig methods, closed loop fertility and direct sales models, Jenny and Janet will be sharing their experience and methods in an online Q&A on Tuesday 17th February at 8pm.
