Inside the Gate Returns On 30th August

Step Inside the Gate – Farming for Natures open farm day offers a unique chance to explore Ireland’s nature-friendly farms

Farming For Nature’s ‘Inside the Gate’ returns on Sunday, 30th August.

Nineteen nature-friendly farms across Ireland will open their gates to the public on Sunday, 30 August, for Inside the Gate, a nationwide open farm day organised by Farming For Nature.

The one-day event offers families, food lovers and anyone curious about farming the chance to step onto a working farm, meet the farmers and see first-hand how food can be produced in a way that supports nature, biodiversity and healthy ecosystems.

From dairy and beef farms to orchards and hill farming systems, every participating farm offers a different experience, showcasing practical approaches to farming that protects wildlife, improves soil and water quality, enhances farmland biodiversity, all the while producing nutritious food and supporting rural communities.

Events take place on 19 different farms across the country. Adult tickets cost €5, children go free, and places are limited, so advance booking is essential. Full details and tickets are available at Farming for Nature’s Inside the Gate webpage. This page also has FAQs and a photo gallery from last years event.

Farming for Nature is supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine and the National Parks and Wildlife Services.
