Oliver Nagle

Oliver is a farmer who has been part of the Burren Programme since its inception. Through this, he now farms his farm at Slieve Carran in a way that he feels benefits both his farming and biodiversity, with much of the land receiving the highest scores possible within the programme. For the last two years, Oliver has voluntarily taken our 3rd year Botany students for a walk on his land where he explains the programme and what it means for both him and for wildlife. His passion and interest in both farming and nature are clear, and the student benefit hugely from this first had experience of practical conservation. (Nominator: Dr Dara Stanley, NUI Galway)
