SUMMARY:'Ask the Farmer' Online Q&A - 'Making a Living on 3 Acres and Producing Nutrient Dense Food’
DESCRIPTION:Janet and Jenny began farming together in 2016 on a 3-acre organic hillside farm. Inspired by mentor Rory McGorian\, they focused on high-value crops like salads and leafy greens\, initially selling to local supermarkets and restaurants\, and now manage over 1.5 acres of outdoor production beds while also planting thousands of trees. \n\n\n\nIn 2019\, they transitioned to a no-dig approach inspired by Jean Martin\, refining their methods to maximize soil fertility using pony manure and waste materials\, producing 80% of their own nutrients. They have maintained the farm as their primary income for nearly ten years and recently planted a syntropic agroforest. Their future plans include expanding orchards and hedgerows\, opening a farm shop\, and offering courses. Observing a significant return of wildlife\, they emphasize that “nature is front and centre in everything we do.”

SUMMARY:6 week Regenerative Agriculture Course with Síola Chroí
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator Panel – 6 week Regenerative Agriculture Course \n\n\n\n\nApply Here\n\n\n\n\nSíolta Chroí have developed a 6-week Introduction to Regenerative Agriculture course. Over the past number of years the programme has been highly successful\, bringing more farmers into the conversation around regenerative agriculture and supporting the transition towards more resilient farming systems. \n\n\n\nBuilding on this success\, Síolta Chroí now aims to deliver the course in locations across Ireland. \n\n\n\nTo support this expansion\, we are creating a panel of facilitators who will be available to deliver the programme in different regions. \n\n\n\nAbout the Course \n\n\n\nThe 6-week course explores key topics including: \n\n\n\n\nWhat is Regenerative Agriculture\n\n\n\nSoil Health & Biology\n\n\n\nWater Management\n\n\n\nAgroforestry\n\n\n\nDirect Selling & Farm Viability\n\n\n\nIntegration into Farm Goal Setting & Holistic Management\n\n\n\n\nThe course is delivered using non-formal education methodologies\, with a strong emphasis on dialogue\, peer learning\, and farmer experience. (Training in these facilitation methods will be provided to selected candidates). \n\n\n\nWe are seeking individuals who: \n\n\n\n\nHave knowledge and experience in regenerative agriculture\n\n\n\nAre comfortable facilitating group learning and discussions\n\n\n\nWho are good clear communicators\n\n\n\nHave experience working with farmers or rural communities\n\n\n\nAre interested and passionate in supporting the spread of regenerative practices across Ireland\n\n\n\n\nPanel Information \n\n\n\nSuccessful applicants will be placed on a facilitator panel from which facilitators will be selected as courses are scheduled in different regions. \n\n\n\nPlease note that placement on the panel does not guarantee work\, but provides the opportunity to be considered for facilitation as programmes are organised. \n\n\n\nDeadline for applications 13th April 2026
